Real Estate and You – What’s the Path to Success? Part 3

You decided on your business type and your dream client – let’s move on to your website and/or Internet Presence. You do have a website/presence, right? If not – check out different providers, talk to agents in your office, check out other agents sites online, check out blogs…you need an Internet Presence. 5, 10 years ago – it might have been optional. Not anymore. Today, over 86% of all Home Buyers start their search on the Internet…will they find you?

You have a few options available. Option One – best known – a website.  What can a site do for you? It allows clients to find you and gives them the option to meet you. On a website? Yes! Because your website will be different! It will not just be a generic, purchased site – it will be a site that reflects you, your approach to Real Estate and what you have to offer!

How is that possible? Well, let’s go back to your Dream client! Remember them? Great! Now put yourself in their shoes. If you were this client – what would you search for online? What kind of information would you expect? What would interest you? Once you answered that question, it’s time to provide that type of information via great web content! (Content, not flash, rules!)  Start with the basics and keep adding on over time. Rome wasn’t build over night either…

Make it interesting, don’t just make this a “me me me” site. That’s not why people search online…they want information, about homes, areas, schools, employers, recreation and anything else there is happening in your area.

Another option would be to start a blog. A blog is another form of “website” – except it’s easier to add new information, you can update it quickly and due to the number of people reading blogs, it can become quite popular. Again – provide content!

Regardless if you decide to have a website, a blog or both – you have to have a net presence. Next step – some ideas for topics to write about on blogs and/or websites.
