You are on the net – you have a website and you write a blog. Does that mean you’re done? Nope. Sorry. Not done yet. Where else does your information reside? How else can people find you? Talk about you? “Just” via your website and/or your blog? Surely not! Not in today’s connected society!
There are a variety of social networking sites available – choose at least a couple of them and join! Just be sure you have the time and inclination to contribute. No contribution, no benefit. No benefit, why bother? And I don’t just mean benefit in regards to potential business – these sites let you meet people from just about anywhere. You never know when you’ll come across someone that has the same interests as you, wants to start their own group, bounce ideas of each other, read your first blog post etc. There’s a reason these sites are so popular!
Don’t know where to start? Check out some of them, then watch them for a while to see what’s going on and then decide if that particular site is a good match for you. (Does it have like minded people in groups or forums?) Once you made your decision – join and participate. Just be sure to keep it professional – you want to be know for your business, not something you’d rather not have your customers know!
