According to Eli Khamarov…
The best things in life are unexpected – because there were no expectations.
Why not DO the unexpected? And be remembered by your clients! Check out some of the following “practical” unexpected items…(but regardless of what you do – never let Customer Service slip! No trinket is worth bad service…)
-
Instead of your “typical” open house – have a wine and cheese party. Historic Home? Hire a Quartet to play period music.
-
Instead of mailing “something” every month – be personal! Give a Birthday Gift tailored to them; a book; a class, an event.
-
Instead of sending flyers or mailers and such (which are usually considered to be “junk”) bring by something in person – it doesn’t have to be something big. New Homeowners? Bring Filters for the Heater. Bulbs to plant in the yard. A basket with small toys for the kids. Pet Treats.
-
Instead of holding “regular”client appreciation parties – have a theme party, i.e. 50’s or 60’s, Halloween, Valentines, Oscars, Ballroom Dancing.
-
Instead of sending a gift certificate to a restaurant – bake a cake and drop it off, invite your clients to dinner – at YOUR house.
-
Instead of having a party for your clients at the office – charter a bus, go to a local spot and enjoy; for example: near Colorado Springs, the Royal Gorge Railroad offers Mystery Dinner Rides – good food, gorgeous scenery and a fun event.
-
Instead of giving out business cards – give out Candy Bars with personalized wrappers (you can advertise your business, your service or your product this way). Summer time and the chocolate is melting? Use Microwave Popcorn, Gummi Bears etc.
